Shea Coulson, Founder and Principal of Coulson Litigation and Lisa Haley, Restaurant Director of L’Abattoir are hosting a seminar on June 12, 2018 for hospitality industry management and employees called “Harassment in the Hospitality Industry: Employee Rights and Effective Employer Risk Management”.
It is a major challenge to manage harassment in the workplace as an owner or manager of a hospitality business. However, the risks of not properly addressing these issues are significant and could result in devastating losses, reputational damage, law suits, and even criminal charges.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide owners, managers, and employees of hospitality businesses with an understanding of the law related to sexual harassment and bullying, explain the employee’s perspective when commencing legal action against an employer for sexual harassment or bullying, and discuss the steps employers can take to reduce the risk of sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace along with providing practical guidance to responding to a legal action by an employee.
The seminar will also provide a panel discussion from hospitality leaders about practical implications, consequences, and solutions to dealing with sexual harassment and bullying in the hospitality work environment. This seminar is the second in an ongoing series of seminars addressing harassment in the hospitality industry.
