January 18, 2017

As part of the BC Government’s commitment to encourage the responsible sale, service, and consumption of liquor, they have released new Alcohol Sense promotional material for mandatory posting in your establishment.

ABLE BC is part of the Mandatory Display Advisory Committee, which developed the new Alcohol Sense material in collaboration with other industry representatives, the Ministry of Health, LCLB, LDB, and Centre for Addictions Research of BC.

The committee worked to improve the look and feel of this material, and make it more appropriate to post in a broader range of member establishments.

Licensed establishments and all liquor retailers, both public and private, have until February 1, 2017 to replace their current Alcohol Sense material with at least one of the new posters or tent cards. The material is to be displayed in a prominent location until further notice.

New Alcohol Sense material has been mailed out to establishments and you should receive them this week. The material is also available for download on the LCLB website until January 22:

On January 23rd, the material will be located on a new government website: http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/employment-business/business/liquor-regulation-licensing/publications-resources/signs.
