Thank you for continuing to send us your LDB shortage reports. ABLE BC is well aware of the difficulties members are having ordering product through the LDB, and the serious product shortages you are experiencing. The recent increase in product shortages is a system-wide issue, affecting both private and government liquor stores.

The LDB has asked we share with members the message below, however we recognize that this is not a solution and that product shortages are an ongoing problem for you.

ABLE BC is in constant contact with the LDB and we will continue to work with their Senior Wholesale Team to ultimately resolve these challenges.

Message from LDB Wholesale Team:

“Over the past 4 weeks, we have experienced sales demand well above forecast and the ensuing capacity challenges have resulted in below target in-stock performance, impacting all our customers’ orders. To improve the current in-stock performance, we have been working hard to re-balance ordering and receiving by category and vendor. 

Imported products have been most affected, and we continue to partner with ContainerWorld by providing additional receiving appointments during the week and on the weekend to receive all backlog orders. We anticipate improvements through this week and into next week.

We thank you for your business and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for our valued customers.”
