As members know, ABLE BC remains committed to working with our municipal partners as they grapple with the serious implications of changing provincial policies on their local communities. On Monday, July 25, Richmond City Council will be considering options for allowing wine on grocery shelves. Please click here to view Staff’s report and recommendations to Council.

ABLE BC Executive Director Jeff Guignard will be joining Richmond liquor licensees at this meeting to ask Council to vote in favour of Option 2, which would extend a local 1 km distance rule to all wine stores including grocery. If you are able to attend the meeting to support our efforts, please email Jeff directly at jeff@ablebc.ca.

If you are unable to attend, please consider writing to Richmond City Council in advance of Monday’s meeting to let them know you support a 1 km distance separation from all retailers of beverage alcohol.
