New Associate Member: New Wave Wine Society

Dear ABLE BC members and industry colleagues,

We are pleased to introduce a new associate member, New Wave Wine Society (NWWS)!

New Wave Wine Society's membership includes wineries, meaderies, and cideries producing high-quality beverages from 100% BC-grown fruit and honey.

The Society was formed in 2015 by a group of fruit wineries looking to tackle common challenges together. They quickly identified common interests and concerns around quality assurance, government relations, and market access. With goals in place, NWWS was formed and member wineries got to work.

Quality assurance remains the top priority. Having witnessed the amazing success of the BCVQA program, NWWS developed and implemented the Quality Certified Wines (QCW) program through the BC Wine Authority. These wines are assessed by the VQA panel and are held to the same quality standards.

NWWS wineries have greater flexibility in winemaking methods that reflect the traditions of fruit and mead wine. When you purchase a fruit or mead wine with the QCW certification, you can be sure that you are buying a high-quality product.

If you are having trouble selling wine to the millennial market NWWS just might be your answer! Millennials consistently rate quality fruit and mead wines high and have excellent repurchase intent.

NWWS wineries are located throughout BC - from Prince George to Campbell River, Southern Vancouver Island to the Fraser Valley, and even in the Okanagan! Wherever your pub, bar, or liquor store is located, there is a NWWS winery that is local to you.
