LDB Liquor Wholesale Operations Service Update

Dear ABLE BC Members and Industry Colleagues,

We have been meeting regularly with the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) to work together on solutions to these frustrating delivery delays. The past few months haven't been easy and the resumption of liquor wholesale service has not gone as smoothly as planned.

Amid record high order volumes, we are pleased to see the LDB has now made some positive progress and we are sharing their latest service update.

The LDB recognizes recent challenges that wholesale customers have endured and they sincerely apologize that they have been unable to provide normal service levels during this time.

LDB-stocked product

We are pleased to share that LDB expects to return to normal delivery schedules for LDB-stocked product by Monday, November 7; however, there may be some intermittent delays as we transition back to normal.

Inbound shipments to the LDB are now being booked as per regular schedule and orders are being placed to maintain standard inventory levels at both distribution centres.

Non-stocked wholesale product (NSWP)

LDB continues to address the high volume of NSWP orders to be delivered in time for the holiday season.

They are now back to receiving a normal volume of NSWP cases per day at DDC.

NSWP order-to-ship time is currently two to three weeks, plus transportation time from the distribution centre to the customer.

Wholesale customers can assist the LDB in restoring service levels for NSWP by reducing unnecessary ordering. LDB asks that customers please order only the items they need and have the capacity to receive.
