Important Service Update: Quantity Limits in BC Liquor Stores Remain in Place - Clarification

Dear ABLE BC Members and Industry Colleagues,

Following today's earlier good news that the BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU) has reached a tentative agreement with BC's Public Service Agency, we are sharing a clarification from the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) about quantity limits in place at BC Liquor Stores.

As you are already aware, restocking industry (including BC Liquor Stores) is expected to take several weeks and we will continue to see delivery delays for some time.

LDB has released a clarification to their previous announcement about quantity limits

The quantity limits of three items per SKU, per day will remain in place for all hospitality orders submitted through BCL stores; however, these limitations do not apply to beer product (import and domestic) or non-stocked wholesale (spec) product.

We understand that this update is frustrating and that hospitality members are eager to have their bars restocked. We are meeting with LDB several times a week to offer industry's feedback. We will work with LDB to ensure this limitation can be lifted as soon as BC Liquor Stores have replenished inventory.

Please know that LDB and BC Liquor Stores apologize for this inconvenience and hope to resume normal services as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

We will offer further updates as soon as they are available.
