ABLE BC Endorses Attorney General David Eby for Re-Election

Dear ABLE BC members and industry colleagues,

The Alliance rarely offers official endorsement of individual candidates or political parties during elections. However, in this election we are proud to endorse David Eby for re-election in Vancouver Point Grey.

Since the start of this pandemic, Minister Eby has been instrumental in securing several temporary liquor policy changes that are helping our industry stay afloat, such as wholesale pricing for hospitality licensees, allowing pubs to sell alcohol with take-out and delivery meals, and expanding temporary licensed areas, such as patios.

He has also committed to making hospitality pricing permanent if an NDP government is re-elected.

Earlier today, Minister Eby also committed to capping food delivery app commissions at 15 per cent – specifically to stop these companies from gouging BC’s hard-hit pubs, bars, and restaurants.

According to ABLE BC’s Executive Director, Jeff Guignard: “While BC’s hospitality industry has been weathering the worst financial storm in its history, Attorney General David Eby had our back. He’s gone to bat for us over and over again, and has earned our industry’s trust, appreciation, and support. On behalf of ABLE BC, I am proud to endorse David Eby for re-election in Vancouver Point Grey.”
