Goodbye to our Director of Membership & Communications Danielle Leroux

Dear ABLE BC members and industry colleagues,

They say all good things must come to an end. And that every ending is just a new beginning in disguise.

After 7.5 years serving our members, Danielle Leroux - our Director of Membership & Communications - will be moving on from ABLE BC at the end of 2021.

Danielle has been an invaluable part of ABLE BC since shortly after I joined as Executive Director in 2014. Although we are all sad to see her depart, I am filled with pride and gratitude for everything she has accomplished during her tenure. As those of you who worked with Danielle know, her relentlessly positive personality, diligence, and unyielding professionalism have left a mark on our association. She’s leaving behind an enviable track record of successful achievements.

While I will certainly miss working with her, I wanted to take this moment to thank Danielle publicly for her hard work, leadership, and steadfast support - particularly during the ongoing challenging of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please join me and ABLE BC’s Board of Directors in wishing Danielle a fond farewell as she begins an exciting new adventure in 2022.

To learn about Danielle’s next steps, please see her final message to members below.

-Jeff

A message from Danielle:

It is with a mix of sadness and excitement that I share with you that I will be leaving ABLE BC on December 31, 2021.

Fresh out of grad school with a Master of Arts in Communications, I joined the association 7.5 years ago, as our Membership and Engagement Coordinator in June 2014. From there, I became our Manager of Membership and Communications in 2015 and Director of Membership and Communications in 2018.

My first year was a crash course in liquor policy, understanding BC’s private liquor industry, and meeting our members. I started in the role several months after Jeff Guignard came on as the Executive Director. Together, we worked to rebuild the ABLE BC brand, regain trust, and build relationships across the industry.

During my time at ABLE BC, I have learned an incredible amount, sent thousands of email updates, met countless interesting people, gained experience in running a business, and been inspired by our industry’s resilience and ability to adapt - all of which have been instrumental in me wanting to pursue my own businesses.

In January 2022, I will be pursuing my life and leadership coaching practice. I will also be launching with my business partner She Summits in the Workplace: a forward-thinking tool that enables organizations to empower their female employees and support their growth.

It has truly been an honour to work on behalf of our members and industry and I will greatly miss working with you. Thank you to Jeff and our Board of Directors, members, and my association and industry colleagues. Here’s to the next chapter!

-Danielle
