New ABLE BC Associate Member: 40 Knots Winery

Dear ABLE BC members and industry colleagues,

We are please to introduce a new associate member, 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery!

Established in 2005, 40 Knots is a family-owned winery located on the Comox Peninsula on Vancouver Island. Sitting next to the Salish Sea on glacier till soil, 40 Knots enjoys a terroir and microclimate that is unique to Vancouver Island. The grapes flourish during the growing season from hot days and cool nights, benefitting from ocean breezes and deep soils where roots can stretch down as far as 4.5-5.5 meters.
40 Knots grows Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay, Auxerrois, Schonberger, and Siegerrebe with newly planted Castel and Marechal Foch in their 30-acre vineyard. To meet a growing demand, they purchase more grapes from Comox Valley vineyards that comply with their high standards for farming.
