Meet the ABLE BC Board of Directors: Jessica Dolan, Director

Jessica Dolan is one of ABLE BC’s newest Directors, appointed to our Board by the BC Hotel Association (BCHA) along with Al McCreary, Brady Beruschi, and Stephen Roughley. She is no stranger to the hospitality industry, having grown up in Penticton and learning from the family business, the Ramada Penticton hotel. Now, Jessica not only manages the hotel but also oversees the Station Public House and Blue Tail Poolside Grill as the General Manager and VP of Operations. Before stepping into her current role, Jessica spent time traveling the world, collecting hospitality experiences and standards to bring back home. She spent several years in Vancouver studying Business Management at BCIT and then working for Coast Hotels corporate in Marketing.

Jessica has fond memories of growing up around the hotel, playing in the halls after school, being put to work helping clean rooms, and just being immersed in the bustling atmosphere of hotels and restaurants. Now with kids of her own, Jessica is excited to give those same fun experiences to the next generation. It’s no secret that one of the biggest challenges facing our industry now is the labour crisis in BC. Jessica is highly motivated to help the ABLE BC Board of Directors and our members navigate this crisis, and she believes that one strategy is to show younger folks, whether her own kids or hospitality professionals just getting started, how rewarding this industry truly is. Jessica's leadership style relies on training and development, focusing on growing talent and showing her newer hires the career potential in front of them.

Jessica has a wealth of Board experience, having served on the Travel Penticton Board for ten years and sitting on the BCHA Board of Directors since November 2021. She is eager to bring that experience to ABLE BC, adding another layer of talent and strength to our team. Over the pandemic, Jessica was impressed by the successes of ABLE BC and the community and teamwork she saw between ABLE, BCHA, and our other industry partners. Wanting to be a part of that success and support the continued collaboration, Jessica was drawn to join the ABLE Board of Directors this year. She’s looking forward to learning from our other Directors and Jeff Guignard, ABLE’s Executive Director, and being a part of our industry’s return to profitability and growth.

Jessica is no stranger to rolling up her sleeves and putting in work, having completed Tough Mudder twice. She’s a great addition to our Board, and we hope that our members will join us in welcoming her to the team! The next time you see Jessica out and about, you can cheers her with a pint of Bad Tattoo Brewing Company’s Juice Bomb or a refreshing BC Pinot Gris on a sunny patio.
