Update: Negotiations to Resume Monday

Dear ABLE BC Members & Industry Allies,

Earlier this morning, the BCGEU held a press conference to announce:

Government and the union are scheduled to resume negotiations September 29th Monday morning;
Current union strike actions (including liquor & cannabis distribution and 77 government liquor stores) will remain in place until further negotiations have reached an agreement.

ABLE BC's Bo Chen comments:

" It is encouraging that the government is taking initiative to return to the bargaining table. BCGEU management should consider de-escalating their actions against our supply chain in good faith. Small businesses and employees are still stuck in the middle of this until a deal is reached."

LDB Liquor Service Update – Full Case Orders Will Not Be Cancelled During Strike Action

On behalf of the BC LDB, ABLE BC is sharing this notice to provide clarification on the management of wholesale orders submitted prior to strike action which began on September 22 at 9:30 a.m. and continues to impact the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).

Orders will be managed as follows:

Full case orders submitted prior to the strike-related service disruption of our Distribution Centres and Wholesale Customer Centres will remain in our system.
These orders will be fulfilled once operations resume.
Customers are not required to resubmit orders unless contacted directly by our team.
While earlier communications indicated potential cancellations, we have adjusted this approach to minimize disruption for our customers.

List of Producers Able to Ship Direct to Cannabis Licensees : used to assist cannabis retailers in verifying the products being offered by direct delivery producers that are registered for the program. The direct delivery vendors will have a smaller subset of products in stock at any point in time.
