Immediate Halt on Import Purchase Orders and Sale of Russian Liquor Products

Dear ABLE BC Members and Industry Colleagues,

Following yesterday's announcement that British Columbia will immediately halt the import and sale of Russian liquor products, the LDB has asked us to circulate this memo and this list of the Russian products impacted by this action.

ABLE BC supports the decision of our BC government partners to condemn the unprovoked aggression of Russia’s government. We have already heard from several members who immediately removed Russian products from their shelves.

Others have indicated they will continue selling current inventory until it is depleted (since it has already been paid for), and they will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds to the Red Cross's Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.

The Government of Canada will match all eligible donations made by Canadian individuals between Feb. 24, 2022 and March 18, 2022, up to a maximum of $10 million.
